Angelic Pretty - Fantastic Carnival - UNBOXING & REVIEW

Angelic Pretty has had several bloodbaths over the last few months,
and there does not seem to be an end to this war for dresses!
Recently most of their dresses have sold out straight on release day,
often a few hours after release!
Crazy yet true!
This dress I really wanted, but it was not easy at all!
This is the story of a print, a dress, a shopping service and a rabbit!

Hope this will make you smile!

Do what you love! Love what you do!

Closet Child Japan fashion HAUL

My massive haul of brand lolita fashion dresses: Lots of frill in a massive shopping spree. I never thought i would be able to own so many brand dresses in such a short time.
How come?
And what did i get?!

I will answer the second question first. Here is the sparkly new video of my frilly Japan shopping spree:

Names of the dresses in the video:
Metamorphose: Teddybear Patissier
Angelic Pretty: Fancy Lace
Baby the Stars Shine Bright: Nakayoshi Kumiyachan Trick or Treat
Baby the Stars Shine Bright: Love Ring Present Box
Putumayo: Trump Neko Skirt

How come?
I got paid, my birthday was close but really, lets be honest:
They were all massive bargains!
Each of them was way under 8.000yen, kumyachan was only 3.900yen. Bodyline is more expensive than that! Mentioning that, with the rise of Bodyline prices, it is now often cheaper to buy second hand brand than new Bodyline. Compare the market clever Lolitas!!
Here are some thoughts about the dresses:

Metamorphose Teddy Bear Patissier:
The last two years my friends Carol, Joanne and I did a Lolita pancake day challenge with games and food and they were a real blast! We laughed tears and had so much random fun. In one of them Joanne wore an apron dress and ever since i wanted an apron dress as well. Some lolitas have debated if aprons belong to Lolita dresses, but why not? Angelic Pretty, Metamorphose and others have brought out several collections with apron dresses and skirts. I always like it when my dress/skirt can be worn in different ways. This gives you so much more creativity in making your own styles with one dress/skirt. Also, it is bloody cute!!
You can convince yourself of it in last year's pancake video:

Brilliant day, right?!
Next one up: Angelic Pretty

 Angelic Pretty Fancy Lace
This dress surprised me! At first i thought it was Bttsb instead of AP. Classic style with a fresh and minty touch! The ruffles at the back and the sheering make this dress look very posh. I have however realised that the lace used makes this dress hard to coordinate with other white blouses. The "fancy" lace does not match with the thin lace that most AP blouses have. I will probably have to use my brown Bttsb blouse with it, as it has a sturdy collar. Minty green and chocolate brown combi! Summarizing i can say that the fany lace is so fancy, its possibly a bit too fancy for a normal combi.

Baby the Stars Shine Bright
Best friend Kumyachan Trick or Treat
Long name for my shortest shirt of the haul. It was the price that made me snatch it from the rail like a hungry teddy. 3.900yen and a recent print as well! I love all kinds of dressing up (as you know) so i love the halloween theme on it too. The Kumyachan release is really cute and one day i might get a teddy kumyachan bag to match. This shirt will hopefully go with my new blue luckypack blouse, as i havent found a way to combine it yet.
But the lace at the dress has stars, so does the blouse, hopefully they will get along. The dress is quite tight though, possibly the tightest skirt i own. Definetly not one to wear on an "all you can eat" cake buffet!

Baby the Stars Shine Bright Love Ring Present Box
This dress was another bargain. The top shows a classical style with lace, frill and a shiny bow, the bottom colourful and fun to watch. I love wearing red as a colour and so the dress drew me to it like a magnet. I found out later that the dress might have been reduced because the massive bow at the side is missing. I actually don't miss it really. I am quite clumsy so i might have lost the bow myself really. Also, i think this is a dress for now and the future. When some lolitas get older i have seen then drifting more towards simpler colours and classical cuts. Imagine me as aunty Cat still flauting her frills!

Putumayo: Trump Cat Skirt
I was just about to leave the shop when i saw this skirt poking out from the punk section of the shop (Putumayo is more Punk with some Lolita and is therefore not kept with the other Lolita clothes and brands in the shop). The cats on the skirt caught my eye and my heart and it was quite affordable at 2.800 yen. (I however put another item back, just because i didnt want to go more shopping crazy than i already have been). And hey - EVERYONE LOVES CATS - the internet has proven that. And especially the moustache cat was too adorable. I like wearing loli skirts on normal days out and the simple black and whites with read can easily be combined with casual clothes. Everyone loves a moustache kitty!!

Thats it for today folks! Hope you enjoy your next shopping haul as much as i did mine!
Dont forget to follow my blog via email or google friend connect (works with your gmail email).
I also really try my best to tweet back so be sure to follow me on twitter as well! "Doitcosplaygirl" is my twitter name for now. Let's tweet to each other!
Hope you will have a great start into the next week!

Baby the stars shine bright, Maison de Julietta, Ooishi Ran and GLP!

I met a famous Lolita fashion designer and I did not know at first! Shame on me! I could have taken a picture with her! Now what did actually happen?!

Let's rewind!

A special event called "The 4th KMD forum" was held at Keio University and they invited the Lolitas from the GLP (Gothic and Lolita and Punk no kai) to join in. The result was a fantastic events full of Japanese Lolitas, virtual Alice in Wonderland magic and sparkly star guests!
Before I go on, here is the precious video:

I have met the GLP Lolitas before, at their event at Waseda University and the video of that is here:

Now at the event at Keio Campus, the Lolitas also had a large fashion walk, a star guest talk and a sweets accessories workshop done by Pastel Parade! Perfect for Lolita fashion!

5 Facts about the event at Keio University:
1) One side was for the Alice cinema, the other for the Lolita fashion lovers
2) The talk was with star guests like Baby the Stars shine bright designer Uehara Kumiko, Yamada Keita from Maison de Julietta  and Illustrator Ooishi Ran.
3) All sweets and tea was free
4) The sweets workshop was free but limited to a certain number of participants
5) Other spaces of the university were for demonstrations of Keio student's media studies

5 Facts about GLP
1) Founded by Ai, after she returned from her studies in America
2) Biggest club for Lolita fashion and appreciation in Japan
3) Some Lolitas recognized me from the last event, which made me extremely happy
4) They were all very kind, sweet and approachable
5) Their Lolita styles were absolutely top-class! Everyone's personal taste also showed through the way they wore their brand.

The star guests talk

5 Facts about the stage talk
1) Yamada Keita from Maison de Julietta was really cool and showed how he appreciated people liking the fashion and he encouraged interested girls to try it, to get their friends into Lolita fashion and to generally give it a go
2) Uehara Kumiko from Baby the Stars shine bright was really elegant and shy. She spoke quietly and was really polite and charming in her own way. After seeing her on stage I read up more about her and she also does the "mainstream" Bttsb design such as the "typical" Baby design with cotton and lace. Kumiko Uehara also designs the shoes, bags and parasols and she wears Baby the stars shine bright dresses almost every day
3) Ooishi Ran was really good talking on stage and some of her words I would like most Lolitas to listen to - Especially the part when she says to break out of the strict Lolita rules and wear it with fun and make the fashion approachable to others. She spoke from my heart!
4) Ai was a really good host and she managed to connect the guest's topics and added her own touch to it. I especially liked the part when she said that having found the thing you love doing, is a truly great experience and that people should not deny themselves. She's a true Lolita at heart.
5) Cool Japan: All guests on stage are aware of how Lolita fashion is getting exported nowadays and how people around the world are getting interested. Uehara Kumiko was really cute when she said she would like people all over the world to wear Lolita fashion and make their dreams (being a princess in a fairytale) come true.

I was glad and grateful that I had the chance to be there!
Oishi Ran even let me take a picture of her, and she posted one of us on her Twitter as well which made me incredibly happy.

Ooishi Ran is really cute!
Seriously big thanks to the guests and to the GLP Lolitas. I was glad to be there!
That's it for today folks!
Have a sparkly week

Lolita Snowman

Why make a Lolita Snowman?

The weekend an unusual phenomena hit Japan: Snow.
While snow is generally seen in Northern areas such as Hokkaido, the Kanto region including Tokyo, has not seen this much snow in 15-40 years.
People were urged to stay inside their houses. Why?
Most areas do not have the snow clearing system that countries of colder temperatures have, because it was simply not necessary to have one.
So the streets and the passageways remained uncleared while the snow kept falling.

The snow fell pretty heavily all of a sudden, and the weight of the snow tore down the whole sunroof of the nearest bakery. Furthermore, some electric lines took damage and some people had to sit in the rooms without electricity. That would not be as bad if you have central heating: but think twice! There is no central heating in most houses because it usually never gets that cold. Most people heat with electricity and some with gas. Which means the people that head with electricity, like one of my friends, had to live without light, heat and internet for up to 20 hours.

The next day, it was simply beautiful outside. The sun came out and it got relatively warm and I layered up my loli layers and ventured outside. After all, I don't think the chance to make a snowman in Japan will come around that quickly again.

The video of my Lolita snowman is here:

Fashion:
Fashion wise, I am wearing Baby the Stars Shine Bright Gothic lolita JSK together with a AP Kodona jacket (the trousers were so small, they won't even fit my youngest cousin, so at least the top gets some use out of it). The hat I bought at Disney Land Tokyo a while back but I was glad for the warmth it gave me. The wind got stronger during filming, so my hair was a bit of a mess.

What you might have seen in the video:
I am taking this video in a park
I forgot to bring eyes
It's practically not a snowman but a snowlady

What did not make the final cut:
As you would guess, even in Japan, a Lolita will draw attention to herself, making a snowman all by herself. So pretty quickly I had the attention of a group of boys in the park who were making their own igloo. They were actually the ones who shouted encouragement.

There was a rather large part where I had to explain them why I am filming and the name of my channel. Reminded me how long my channel name is, I guess it's hard to remember.

But why make a snowman? Because life, that's why. It's short, it's cold but you can make something fun and pretty out of it. Some people call it Yolo, I say Carpe Diem.
Make the most of the moment, you never know when it will come back round. If you want to make a snowman now, it's either melted or ice. Sometimes you have to take a chance as it offers itself to you.
I am glad I made a snowman! Hope you all never forget your inner child!

See you next year Lolita Snowman! If there is enough snow that is...

Love what you do - Do what you love!!!

Baby The Stars Shine Bright + Putomayo Luckybag review

Last week I opened the announced Lucky bag from Angelic Pretty with you guys.
Inside we found the complete Candy Sprinkle JSK in Black plus bag and socks.
This week we are opening the lucky bag from Baby the Stars Shine Bright together.
However this time it's different:
I have no clue what's inside!

BTTSSB (short for Baby the Stars Shine Bright) released two different kinds of lucky bags this year: A decided dress, similar to the Candy Sprinkle, which had a rose print on. Therefore customers knew what they would get and have a whole set. I didn't like the print that much though, and I guess I was not the only one because there were lots of bags still left in stores in Tokyo when I browsed.

However, they also still do the mystery lucky bags, in which they pack items from earlier years that need to leave the store. They still make sure that you get at least one dress or skirt with it, but apart from that the rest is a MYSTERY!

It might not fit together, it might not fit, it might not be your colour - but it will definitely be a surprise!

So let's reveal the mystery in my newest video before I explain more:

You might have realized the following things:
1) There is an Alpaca in my video again. This time I give it a name.
2) I get changed.
3) There is a Putomayo bag on the bed!

To reveal the secret, I actually took a video of the footage of opening the Putomayo bag that day, but when I was editing today, the video got quite long. So I decided to put the pictures of the Putomayo bag on my blog instead. After all, the accessory is really small so they didn't show so well on the camera anyways.

Let's check out the content of the lucky bag:

Price: about 10.000Yen
1) brown blouse with cherry lace collar
2) see-through neckholder blouse with sparkles and star buttons
3) BTTSSB bag in white
4) red bonnet with piano pattern
5) blue striped summery dress
6) matching headbow
(Comes in a pink BTTSSB logo sportsbag)

Derpy but happy me!

Alpaca claimed the bag as house

Lots of good quality lace to give a detailed front. I love the heart buttons as well.

Nice large bow! Still has some strings poking out though.

One of my weird things with Lolita fashion is, that I keep buying dresses in BLUE but then hesistate to wear them. I still somehow believe that blue is not my colour because I am not naturally blonde. So I rarely wear my blue dresses. In fact, I sold my last blue dress on, as well as my last blue skirt, which I bought and never wore! Such a waste! But with this dress I will try and wear it. It's a really nice different style to the Angelic Pretty and it shows the classical charm that BTTSSB has.

Baby the Stars Shine Bright Lucky bag review:

☆☆Summary☆☆
☆PLUS ☆
+ lots of value for a cheaper price than the set-dress
+ beautiful bag with long straps to go around your shoulder
+ two kinds of blouse
+ head bow and dress are matching
+ Surprise fun!

 ☆MINUS☆
- the bow was not quite sewn in properly so I had to fix that
- see through blouses are usually not well perceived at Lolita fashion meets
- not the colour I was looking for but I am up for the challenge!

☆VERDICT☆
Surprise, suspense, super sweeet!
I know I binged out a lot on dresses this January, but then again, it's my first brand new Angelic and BTTSSB and who knows if I will get them next year. Great value and brand new brand.

Now to the Putomayo bag:

This was the last accessory lucky bag of the shop! It sold at 1.500 Yen but had like 3 times the value inside.
Contents:
Price:1.500 Yen
1) Star earrings
2) pink cross choker
3) Alice in wonderland Egg necklace
4) matching rabbit earrings
5) box necklace (worth 2.100 yen)

The box item was sold at 2.100 yen alone, and the pack was only 1.500 yen! Bargain! Loving the Alice egg and necklace <3
To be honest, I loved the element of surprise! I even dreamed what wonders might be inside the bag! I was kind of hoping there might be a skirt and a dress but I am still happy with what I got. I might wear the blouses for normal wear and make combinations out of the things I have now. The bonnet will be the hardest to combine though. I will have a think about that.

All in all, a lucky lucky bag in my opinion! I am really grateful!

Can't wait to take my new dresses on new adventures and make fun videos for you!
Okay guys! It's late in Japan I need to grab some sleep!

Night night lovelies!

☆Angelic Pretty Candy Sprinkle JSK Lucky Pack REVIEW☆

☆ Oh wow Oh Wow oh WOW☆

... is what I wanted to shout all the time while I opened my very first lucky pack today.
I was lucky - to get my handy on a lucky pack at all. I arrived in Japan several days after the new year, and usually they sell out on the first day. I phoned all shops and they actually still had five dresses in black but ONLY at the store in Shinjuku, so I drove for over an hour to get my hands on my first lucky bag.
And I was SUCH a good girl and kept the bag sealed till today, so I could make a fun video with real reactions! Yes, that deserves a pat on the head!

So here is the
CANDY SPRINKLE Angelic Pretty Unboxing video:

You might have spotted one of the following things:
1) There is an Alpaca in my video.
2) I got a cold, my voice is off.
3) I change my wig, to match it better with the dress.

What you (possibly) won't know:
1) The red velvet dress I wear at the start is also an Angelic Pretty dress
2) I am wearing three pettycoats
3) I had to take a large break to just catch my breath again.

Let's check out the dress a little bit more:

Price: 15,750円
Contents: Candy Sprinkle JSK
Same material Head Bow
Matching socks
White Blouse
 Black Bag
(Comes in a pink AP softbag)

Candy Sparkle JSK Black

The dress and blouse is normal white, so off-white blouses wouldn't go with it.

The print reminds me very much of the merry-go-round Angelic Pretty dresses. Alpaca thinks that too.

The bows are unfortunately not detachable! The one at the back of the dress is

Am I the only one to make funny pictures in the mirror when getting my first brand new brand?!

Alpaca has already claimed the soft bag as his new home.

I didn't want to take the dress off after I started wearing it. What surprised me was that some lose stings were still on the dress. I guess that's how I know it's all new and shiny.

Angelic Pretty Candy Sprinkle JSK Black Review:

☆☆Summary☆☆
☆PLUS ☆
+ Very cute dress with great colours. I especially love the turquouise
+ Three different kinds of lace!
+ Matching head bow and socks!
+ The blouse has detail on the bottom, so it can be worn with a skirt as well
+ Amazing value for the money

☆MINUS☆
- The bows are not detachable
- The sleeves on the blouse are too short

☆VERDICT☆
CANDY SPRINKLE MY HEART!
I am still absolutely dazzled! This totally made a good start into the year for me!
I love the colour, the print and the soft and delicate lace!
Definitely would buy one again. Baby had a rose print out this year for their announced Lucky Bag but it didn't like it as much as this colourful and happy print. I decided to use black though, because pink and lavender were too much pastel for my taste and they swallowed the pattern a little in my opinion.

Especially with all the Bodyline dramalama it's good to see Brand getting more affordable. The Angelic Pretty shop was having a sale on when I was there to buy the pack and some dresses were as much as 50% off!! I will definitely save up for the next Lucky pack sale!

All in all, great day!
Next Sunday I will review a MYSTERY Lucky Bag! The contents are a surprise, so this time I did not know what was hidden inside. But psst, I shall keep it a secret till next Sunday.

Thanks for reading!

Do what you love - Love what you do!

Lolita Christmas Market Meet: Frills and Friends

Let's go and meet the girls!

If you watch my youtube channel, you probably have seen that I hunted for fashion friends and did a big call for German Lolita Fashion girls to meet me.
The plan was to make a larger meet and stroll around the Munich Xmas markets.
Luckily I had the support of Jasmin, who did a call out on a German network called Animexx. This is due to the fact, that the German Lolita network, works different than most other Lolita networks. For starters, there is a lot less happening over Facebook.
With Jasmin's help we got our message into the right channels though.
So, on a sunny day in December, I managed to meet lots of sweet and beautiful German Lolita Fashion girls and we had an absolutely fantastic day of frills!

The sparkly video is here:

I had great fun filming that day, and the girls were very patient with me when I shoved the camera into their faces. Also, I tried some new filming techniques, did you spot them?!

I like focusing on items the girls are proud of when they go to Lolita meets, so let's check out the Girl's accessories of pride for this meet.

☆Accessories of Pride☆

Cat ears have been a highly debated Lolita fashion topic this year. I think they suit her rather well.

Keys are a lovely symbol to go with your Lolita Fashion style!

I must confess I have a soft spot for pocket watches! And it goes so well with Ouji and Kodona!

This Kitty Ring from Accessorize must have known the Hello Kitty boom! I love it!

I loved her corset, but the hat and googles gave it the real steampunk feel. Now that some Lolita brands have started branching into steampunk, this might be the new/old style to have a comeback!

Spikey Headbands for the more rebellious fashion lover!

You thought guys can only have boring bags? Think again! Handmade out of a gorgeous box, maybe you are inspired to make your own man-bag now!?

The delicate rose pattern was stitched onto the necklace! A real classic.

A biscuit bag! They always make me hungry, I really would like to have one myself to be honest.

This sea-horse earring set was handmade by Lo's mother. A real eye catcher.

My headdress was made by my friend Ichigo, who owns the same dress. I really wanted to give the dress and the headdress a spin and later on added my Secret-Santa chocolate cake strap to it.

All in all it was a fantastic day. It seems that German Lolitas wear more classic or gothic Lolia outfits on meets, but maybe that was a coincidence. I also saw that several of the girls made their own dresses. I didn't want to take out my brand on a possibly snowy day, but most of the other girls starred in brand dresses such like Angelic Pretty (Lo) and Black Peace Now (Jasmin) etc.

We also had two Lolita newbies, who I hope enjoyed the meet as well and got inspired for their own Lolita fashion styles.
